Suikoden   Legend of Suikoden

2001

Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - The first update of the Legend of Suikoden in 2001! I would like to apologize to everyone for the lack of updates recently. Updates will now occur frequently, since the amount of school work for me has decreased significantly. As for today's updates, release information regarding Genso Suikoden Gaiden Vol. 2 has been posted on the Main Page. All of the update information from 2000 has been moved to the 2000 Update Archive. An mistitled image (known as "Barbarossa & Windy") within the Suikoden Image Gallery was discovered. The image's title has been corrected to "Leknaat & Cleo." Thank you Blue Moon for noticing this mistake. One MIDI file, Gothic Neclord (1), has been added to the Suikoden II Multimedia Page. Finally, the Links Page has been updated.

Thursday, March 15, 2001 - The affiliation link to Swordtech: Suikoden 3 Fanpage has been removed as a result of numerous requests by viewers to remove the link. One MIDI file, Gothic Neclord (2), has been added to the Suikoden II Multimedia Page. The fifth survey question has been concluded. Here are the results for the fourth question:

Question #5: "Who is your favorite villain in Suikoden II?"

1.) Culgan. - 10% (9 Votes)

2.) Gorudo.  - 0% (0 Votes)

3.) Han Cunningham. - 0% (0 Votes)

4.) Leon Silverburg. - 4% (5 Votes)

5.) Luca Blight.  - 26% (31 Votes)

6.) Neclord. - 9% (11 Votes)

7.) Rowd. - 1% (1 Vote)

8.) Seed. - 15% (17 Votes)

9.) Solon Jhee. - 6% (7 Votes)

10.) Yuber. - 30% (35 Votes)

Total Votes: 117 Votes

The Survey Page has been removed, as a poll as now been placed within the selection bar on the left side of each page. There is a new question awaiting to be answered on the new poll, regarding the release of Genso Suikoden Gaiden series in the U.S.

Wednesday, June 4, 2001 - Happy 4th of July! Earlier in the year, I broke my promise to update frequently. I won't make that mistake again. However, do expect a huge renovation of this website very soon. The sixth polling question has been concluded. Here are the results for the sixth question:

Question #6: "Do you think the Genso Suikoden Gaiden series will be released in the U.S.?"

1.) Yes. - 46% (123 Votes)

2.) No.  - 34% (90 Votes)

3.) Not sure. - 20% (53 Votes)

Total Votes: 266 Votes

Comparing the "Yes" and "No" votes, it seems somewhat close, even though the "Yes" votes has a bit more than the "No" votes. Sadly, it seems Konami will not release the Genso Suikoden Gaiden series in the U.S., as there are currently no plans for it. We can always hope, though. The new polling questions the name of this website. I have been considering to rename the Legend of Suikoden, along with renovating it as well. Place your vote in the poll on what you think about the name of this website. If you have any other suggestions for the name of this website, please e-mail me.

Sunday, September 2, 2001 - Looking at the poll right now, it seems that most of you like keeping the name of this site as the "Legend of Suikoden." I have decided to keep the name. As for progress on the "huge renovation" that was mentioned in the last update, it is coming along very nicely and is nearing completion. The new version of Legend of Suikoden will be going up sometime later this month. It is much more cleaner and efficient than the current version. If you haven't already, please update your bookmark for this website to http://destined.to/suikoden/! It is important to have this link bookmarked, especially when the new version goes up. Don't be surprised if some parts of Legend of Suikoden go down for a bit - it'll be part of the renovation process.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 - Today will be a tragic day that people will remember for a very long time. Tragedy struck hard today within the U.S., as terrorist attacks were made upon the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. It's unknown yet, but several news programs estimate that casualties may be in the thousands, making it the worst attack on the U.S. since Pearl Harbor during WW II. As with many other people across the U.S. and also the world, my condolences and prayers go out to the victims of the attack and also to the families that have lost their loved ones.

Sunday, September 30, 2001 - Progress of the renovation process: about 60% complete. I have to apologize again, for it looks like the new version of this website won't be coming up until mid-October. Recently, I've been very busy with a lot homework and studying because of college. It will be up around mid-October, I promise and wait is well worth it. Just a reminder: every section of this site will be up to date when the new version of the website goes up, including the Links section. I am well aware of the dead links that are on that page, so they will be removed and new links will be put up when the new version goes up.

Sunday, November 18, 2001 - As you can see, the Legend of Suikoden will be down for a little bit, while the website files are being restructured for the new version of the website that is to be uploaded very soon. I apologize for the long delay (both the new version and latest news), for being in college has really taken a toll on my available time. The new version of the site will have some new sections available. It seems that the image gallery will take the longest to restructure, since there are so many image files to deal with. While the site is down, the Guestbook and the Message Board can still be accessed. Oh yeah, the seventh polling question has been concluded (finally) and the results are in:

Question #7: "The title of this website may be changed. What name do you believe is the best for this website?"

1.) The Legend of Suikoden. - 56% (152 Votes)

2.) The Genso Suikoden Saga.  - 20% (55 Votes)

3.) They're both terrible names. Consider a different name. - 24% (64 Votes)

Total Votes: 271 Votes

Even though I made my mind a long time ago, the name, "The Legend of Suikoden" will remain as the name for this site. Anyhow, in recent times, there has been a lot of news on Genso Suikoden III for the Sony Playstation 2. It was originally planned to be released in Japan this winter, but it has been delayed to March 2002. However, Konami of America has announced that it will bring Suikoden III to the U.S. sometime in 2002, which is great news. Back to website matters, hopefully the renovation process won't take too long, but it will definately be done (I promise) by November 27, for that is the date of the second year anniversary for this website. Wow. I can't believe that this site has been up for that long.

Tuesday, November 27, 2001 - Happy 2nd Birthday, Legend of Suikoden! Today marks the 2nd year anniversary of the launch of this website, which happened two years ago, on November 27, 1999. To celebrate the anniversary of the website, Legend of Suikoden v2.0 has been uploaded, which loads faster and is much more organized than the last version of this website. There are a couple of sections that have yet to be fully uploaded, namely the Suikoden II - Art Gallery. These sections will be up soon. Anyhow, I'd like to thank everyone that has visited this site and I hope that you will continue to visit this website now and then. Thanks for visiting!
